Community Data & Survey Library
Our Community Data & Survey Library provides insightful information about Blairstown and how we compare to Warren County, adjacent counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and to total New Jersey. Data is provided by the US Census Bureau, primarily using their American Community Survey (ACS).
The American Community Survey (ACS) helps local officials, community leaders, and businesses understand the changes taking place in their communities. It is the premier source for detailed population and housing information about our nation. We are reporting ACS data from 2013 through 2017, which is the most recent data. Details on this survey can be found at https://www.census.gov/programs-surveys/acs/. For populations as small as Blairstown or even county-level data, margin-of-error is measurable. The data should be considered directional, not absolute. Data obtained from the ACS are identified as ACS Data.
Survey information is based on local on-line surveys, primarily using the Survey Monkey tool at www.surveymonkey.com. This data is informational and directional, but it is biased by the fact that only residents who are connected to the Internet, become aware of the survey and then participate are counted.
The data is accurate for the participants, but does not represent a scientific survey of all Blairstown residents.
We attempt to limit responses to one per participant, but technically savvy people can circumvent this restriction. We request that only Blairstown residents participate, but this can also be circumvented if people do not follow the rules. No effort is made to filter the results, but the results can be impacted by the limitations of the tool. Data collected using surveys are identified as Survey Data.
